Friday 25th May 2012 at 7pm at the new EUPA Premises in Santa Venera – Mobility exhibition between Monday 28th May & Thursday 31st May
‘Bliet’ is a performance that will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Erasmus Programme being held at the new EUPA premises in Santa Venera. This interdisciplinary event is inspired by the theme of contemporary mobility and is based on the publication of the same name by Dr. Norbert Bugeja, one of Malta’s foremost contemporary poets. This publication is a testament of contemporary mobility with verses inspired by and written in different cities and including various elements of multiculturalism.
The concept for the artistic performance was devised by Sean Buhagiar, himself a former Erasmus student. He was commissioned following a competition for performance concepts which was open to the public. Mr. Buhagiar will treat the new EUPA Premises as a performance space where the audience will be able to directly intervene with the performance. They will experience ‘Bliet’ through performers reciting poems, the visuals of a set installation and through live musical interludes. The set installation, by local artist Elisa Von Brockdorff, will then be exhibited throughout the week following the activity.
The event will also include the participation of the Maltese Erasmus Ambassadors who will speak about their Erasmus experiences and how it has impacted their personal and professional lives.
